Burlap Wreath Project

I was blog surfing and came upon the Tatertots and Jello blog. Oh my, is it cute. So many ideas for burlap. She has pictures of Project Runway's last challange using burlap. The dresses they made were awesome!!! I promise you won't see anything like that here. If I can't hot glue or no sew it, it won't get done. So hopefully my burlap wreath will turn out OK. I hope better than OK. At the top is a picture of a burlap wreath made by Relatively Ririe. AWESOME!!!! I love the vibrant colors.

Here are two other I found while surfing. I am not sure who to give credit to on the first one, but it's great too. The second one came from Tatertots and Jello. This one is made from cupcake liners. Perfect for Valentine's Day.

YUMMY!!!!!!!
Here are my colors and I am so excited I want to do it now!!!! My friend Michelle and I are going to get together and make our wreaths. Don't kill me Michelle.......... I only went to "LOOK" at my choices. I could not help myself. I LOOOOOOVE green. Chocolate zebra, polka dots and the most gorgeous green I have ever seen. And that button....Oh my! Could a wreath ask for anything more? Not mine!!! Every room in my house has green in it one way or another. Oh yeah! I just got my new furniture and guess what color????  YEP! Green. Wanna see??  I do!

We love it Lazy Boy!!!!!!! We had to wait 8 wks, but I am so happy. Its hard to imagine what it will look like when you are looking at swatches. My husband was no help either. He was in the back of the store watching some football game on a 6?inch bigscreen TV and laid out on their BIG L shape leather sofa. If he had it his way, that would be sitting in our den right now. Nothing against leather, I just want something soft to lay on while watching a movie. I told him to save that for his man cave. He won't forget either. I must admit it was nice. But mine is nicer!!!!!. The chair and a half is also a twin pull out bed. How neat is that? And very comfy too! The most popular seat so far.

It's late and I need to tuck some kiddo's in. (If they are still awake?) See ya!

What a week! Fun! Fun! Fun!

Tuesday, I started out the week @ Panera with my friend Michelle. Much needed "girl time". Then I had a PTA meeting @ Cheddar's that night.  I must admit, having  the time to have an adult  conversation is wonderful. I really need to do this more often just for my sanity. Don't get me wrong, I love my children. They are my world!!! I would not have it any other way. I would just like a little "me" time. If you are a SAHM out there, then you know what I am talking about. We work 24/7.  But it is the most rewarding job for me. I have a great husband that works hard so I can be here with our children. Thank you hunny!!!

If you haven't been to Cheddar's, you must check them out. YUM!!!! Try the lemon pepper chicken. We had our PTA get together here and stayed for 3 hrs talking and planning and having a great time.

Thursday Michelle and I met Carol @ Panera for another round of "girl time". We need a scrapping weekend getaway.  Beach PLEASE!!!!

How cute is this picture? Just hanging out watching a movie and having some popcorn. I love his new blanket Santa brought him.

My boys never have a dull moment. Not even when they have to take a bath. Ellie, our dog, had to come and check things out. They called for me to come take a picture of their mohawk's. I think this might be a sign that we need some haircuts. Me included!!!  My husband offered, but added that if he took them, it would be short.  No Way!!!!!

My husband and I went to the Thai House friday for our date night. My mother lets the kids stay over on friday's so we can have dinner or see a movie or both. I love to have time to just sit and talk with him about anything.

PARTY  TIME WEEKEND!

We had two parties this past weekend and had so much fun. The first one we went to was a karate party and my kids loved it. They have the children running around the whole time. One game after another. Abby didn't really have much to do with the running part but she liked watching and laughing with everyone. Ok, maybe at everyone. HaHa!  Blake won the dodge ball game because they were out to get the birthday boy. And they finally got him after 50 shots. Some bad aiming I must say!!! HaHa! Oh, but of course I could have done better. What did ya think?

The second party on sunday was a fun party too. Grant was invited to this one and I really enjoyed having one on one time with him. After playing in the bear room ( do you see that big smooch he is giving that bear?), eating cake, and opening presents they were given a card with points and were free to go on any of the rides there. We started with the train, then went on to the swing. I love the picture I got. Everything is blurry except Grant. I can't believe this shot. Awesome!!! ( as Grant would say)  Then Grant rode the Carosel horses and had a ball. He was the only one without a parent riding with him. Are you kidding? He didn't want me! Besides, I had to take pictures! If you know me, then you knew that already.

Thank you Derrek and Annabelle!! Happy Birthday!!!!
What a fun weekend!

Just "chilling"! & My new Word for the year!

Literally!!!  It was in the 20's yesterday and 30's today. But it feels like ice.  I know I know, but I was raised in the south and even vacation 90% of the time in the south. My bones are not use to these temps. I think I feel this way every year. To top it off, the heat in the back of the SUV stopped working. WHAT?? The air conditioning still works but that is not going to do us any good.  So, when the kids were ready for school  I made sure they were all bundeled up.

Hey! Where are your gloves Blake?

ACCOMPLISH!!!!!!!

I believe this should be my new word for the year. As I mentioned, I have many areas to work on and I am eager to accomplish them. Some of them can't actually be "accomplished", but by working on them, this can give me a sense of accomplishment. I won't bore you with my list but I am working on 2010 resolution page and will share it soon.

My7 yr old son Blake brought home his 2010 resolution page from school.

Here, let me help you...
#1  I want to get straight A's.  ( They just got their report cards and he wasn't happy.)
#2  I want to be a good boy this year.  ( Too easy for him. He is my sweety!)
#3  I want to be the richest in the whole family. ( When he came home the third one was erased and I asked him why. He said his teacher said this should be something "they" could do. Uhhh.... this is!  Ha Ha!!!  I love his teacher!)

See you tommorrow!

Happy Birthday Olivia!!

Saturday Abby and I went to Olivia's birthday party at the American Girl bistro. Abby could not even go to sleep the night before cause she was so excited. She had her birthday there in March 09 but had to wait ten months to go back. After Olivia decided which doll she wanted, we had lunch and the girls could not stop smiling. Olivia kept saying "I can't believe I have an American Girl Doll" and "I love Laney, she is so much like me". So cute! That girl is an absolute hoot. My daughter could not stop laughing and when she wasn't laughing she was smiling. Thanks Olivia for inviting us and entertaining us the whole time. Iwould say I hope you had a great birthday, but I know you did!!!!!!

Now where were these dolls when I was younger? I know exactly what I would have picked out.......

How cute is that?  And have you seen kits treehouse? I would not have even asked for that. I knew the answer.  I did have a good pair of SPEED skates though with purple shoestrings and purple wheels. The were black with white stripes. I think I still have them. I told you .... I loved them.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Our new year! We had family over and had a ball. We watched the ball drop in time square and toasted with some welchs sparkeling grape juice. The boys had a few firecrackers poping outside. Aren't they cool!!! The middle one is our cousin and man is he a hoot. Just part of the gang!!!   A and C were having fun posing.  What girl doesn't huh? We did not know until a few days prior that she and Grams were coming and the kids were so excited.

Still working on my "Word" for the new year. The problem is I have a few that I need to combine into one. Apparently I have a FEW areas to work on. Of course I have had these for a while and I want to make sure I stand strong this year and make a change. Hmmmm is that my word?  See you back tomorrow with a very special birthday party we went to this past weekend.  Hint? Every girls dream!!!! Ok......most!
