I picked these trees up at Micheal's the other day. They just slide right together. Easy up and easy down. My type of decoration. If I could only find a 9ft tree so easy. Ha.
I painted them green and purchased different colored pompoms. I also picked up some sequins for sparkle.
Grant was concentrating very hard with chili all over his mouth. I guess the chilidogs
weren't so bad after all. ;)
These are the boys. Colorful aren't they? I just love them. This is the only Christmas decorations I have up right now. They are sitting on my coffee table.
Being a stay at home mom can be a hard job. Mentally! I feel like I am not contributing the way I was raised to do with a "JOB" and all. But today, with everything the way it is (drugs, bad people, and pier pressure), I feel like this is the best place for me. I have the best husband, and thankfully he feels the same as I do. I need to be here! When you choose to be a mom, life is not all about us anymore. God has the plan! This was his plan for me and I love it. As Meg says it "I am here to create a happy and loving home." Read here for her quiet reminder. We all need a reminder sometimes. It is all for HIM!
We got our boxes ready and took them to church to ship off. The kids were so excited to pack the boxes with the items we purchased and had plenty of questions about where the boxes were going and who was going to receive them. After letting them watch the video over at Megs blog Whatever, Abby was ready to make more and was truely moved. I want to teach my children the importance of helping others every chance I get. I am also getting some crafts ready for Water for Africa. All the money raised from the sales of the crafts is used to build wells in Africa. Last year they raised enough to build two. AWESOME!!!
Grant had his Thanksgiving party Thursday and he made a cute little indian. His name was "Little Pow Wow".
I asked him where he wanted to eat since it was his day and he yelled from the back Reeeeed Robinsssssssss. Of course I had to fulfill his Yummmmmm! My chicken wrap came with some cantelope and Grant grabbed that real quick. He ate the two pieces I had and ask the waitress for two more. NOT shy at all! I love this picture. He said "Look mommy I am smiling". He is so fun!!!!!
After we picked the kids up from school we grabbed our bread and headed down to the neighborhood lake to feed the ducks. Can you tell they are fed all the time? They will take the bread right out of your hand if you let them. There were a ton of them.
Blake just threw his bread to them. He was't taking any chances.
What is wrong with this one? I thought all ducks were cute. Like the ones above. He looks half duck and half rooster.
I am not sure what Grant was telling this duck. Poor duck, he looks like he is being scorned. They sure aren't getting too close to him. I'd be scared too ducks. He is tough and not scared of anything.
I now have a name for our little Thanksgiving Story. His name is Tucker. Michelle and her family wanted to wait to name him so they could see his personality. I see why. He is not the same dog I brought home. He was so shy and now he is so playful and full of personality. I love him!!!! So without further ado.... I give you Tucker.
NO, you can't have him! He is right at home. Spoiled and loved so very much.
Tucker was 1of 8 puppies to a homeless golden named Lucy. Michelle lost her golden in July and I thought this could be a match made in heaven. That is, until I heard her husband in the background. :) Thank you Dave! I don't think this dog could be any happier, anywhere. I saw him today and he doesn't just walk, he bounces. He is so happy. We found him while we were visiting Grams for an early Thanksgiving so we call Tucker our little Thanksgiving story. Happy Thanksgiving Tucker!
We took a trip out to the Rock Ranch and I mean it was so fun! The kids could just run and have fun. A trip without "MOM" worrying where they were and if they were out of my sight. It's tough today for these kids.
I tell the kids stories about growing up and being able to walk to a friends house without "MOM" taging along. Don't get me wrong, my mother was on the front porch watching, we were just able to walk down the street without the fear of someone taking us. Hard for mine to imagine. The good ol days!
This is by far the prettiest fall backdrop I have ever seen.
OK, I want an old truck just for my fall decorations now. I love it!!!!!!!!!! I wanted to take the kids picture here, but as you can see it was late and the kids were hollaring they were hungry and tired and wanted to go. They could have cared less how much I loved it. Oh well, I guess the scarecrows will have to do.
There were all types of activities. Just loads of fun. A whole days worth of fun!
The pillow jump. This was a great big pillow that would fit 25 kids at a time. Poor grant could not stand up to save his life. The big kids would jump close to him and send him across the pillow. It was so funny I almost peed in my pants.
Underground sack sliding.
Definately a favorite!
A Corn Maze. Thank goodness for cellphones, we had Hal pick Abby up so we could see where they were.
What kind of farm could survive without a few John Deer's?
Horse and pony rides.
Corn cob shooting.
A fall picture by the corn maze.
A little miniature village. This was a lot of fun.
Some sort of sand diggers
The wonderful conversation during this photo. I could have crawled under the pumpkins
Blake: (my 8 yr old)I am not taking a picture with the Veggie Tales
Me: Blake just turn around and smile.
Blake: Mom, is this a pickle or a cucumber?
Abby: Both , Duh????
Blake: What? (Poor baby)
Grant: (4 yr old) Mom, them fake! Cheeeeeeeeeeeese
Brantley: I am going to chop this pickle.
I don't know what I was thinking. I bet the veggie tales are still talking about us. Everytime I think about this I giggle so hard my side hurts. This will forever be one of my favorite pictures. Got to go scrap it for sure!
Paddle boating in the dark. Please don't fall out!
Can I please have one of these????????????? I promise not to miss use it. ;)
Just a cute picture with Gregory the gord.
This is a trip worth repeating. Not very expensive either. Next time we will take our own picnic and sit by the firepits and have lunch or dinner in our case. We stayed so late. The kids were pooped and they all went straight to bed. Woo Hoo!!!!!!!!!!!! But then again, so did I.
SAHM and loving every minute of it. It's tough sometimes but it's worth it. My loves are my family, scrabooking, photography, thrift store shopping, painting, redoing old items to look new again, pretty much anything crafty. Crafty = happy! Thanks for stopping by.
